The Workforce Solutions area is designed to increase awareness among those exploring and/or presenting career paths—emphasizing the diverse, high-tech, and innovative job opportunities in graphic communications. Workforce Solutions promotes networking opportunities for educators and industry colleagues alike. Nonprofits, universities, and corporations who provide solutions in education, training, scholarships, and more, will be on-hand to emphasize the importance of developing the skilled workforce for printing, imaging, and graphic communications.
Connecting Students and Employers
Hosted by Association for PRINT Technologies (APTech) and PrintWorkers.com, this free Student Career Fair is an opportunity for educators, students, and recent graduates to meet a group of industry employers—all gathered in one location! Participating companies will be on hand at PRINT 19, Thursday, October 3, from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM directly outside of the Vista Ballroom (McCormick Place, 4th Floor). Students will have the opportunity before and during the event to view participating company information online, along with current job opening, internships, and apprenticeships.
Students who are not yet job-ready are also welcome to attend along with their instructors. Recruiters want to develop relationships with students who are preparing to enter the industry, and with the instructors who are guiding our future workforce.
More information coming soon on participating companies!
On Thursday, October 3, look for hundreds of curious students visiting the show floor to check out the latest technologies and learn about careers in printing and graphic communications. The Association for PRINT Technologies (APTech) will hold this Career Day for high school students and teachers, designed especially for those with an interest in printing, graphic design, engineering, computers, art, electronics, physics and chemistry, mechanics, math, and publications.
The day begins with a student assembly in the Vista Ballroom (more details to come). During the student assembly, awards for the first-place winners of the 2019 GAERF Student Design Competition will be presented. Directly afterward, students can learn more through a direct experience on the exhibition floor; meeting with industry professionals demonstrating the latest technologies and innovations.
Student attendees are encouraged to participate in the Student Career Fair (information provided in the section labeled ‘Student Career Fair’), being held directly outside of the Vista Ballroom throughout the day on Thursday.
