Cultivating and recognizing excellence within the Graphic Communications Industry.
APTech’s Harold W. Gegenheimer Awards for Industry Service, established in 1993, are presented annually to a member company of APTech, and an individual employed by a member company, to recognize leadership and commitment to building a strong future for the printing and publishing industry and its suppliers.
APTech (formerly NPES) created the Regis J. Delmontagne Endowed Scholarship fund honoring NPES President Regis J. Delmontagne, recognizing his 25-year anniversary as the Association’s chief executive. The purpose of the endowed scholarship is twofold: to encourage bright young people to plan for careers in the industry and to benefit the employees and children of APTech member companies.
This annual competition invites secondary and post-secondary students studying in a graphic communications/printing, advertising, graphic design or interactive media program to demonstrate their creativity, design, and printing skills. Each year, there is a new theme and challenge.
First place winners receive an award of $2,000 plus a two-day all expenses paid trip to attend PRINT in Chicago, IL. Second place winners are awarded $1,500. The third place winners receive $1,000.
The SkillsUSA Championships are competitive events showcasing the best career and technical education students in the nation. Contests begin locally and continue through the state and national levels.
GAERF partners with SkillsUSA by supporting the Skills USA Championship—Graphic Communications Competition through coordination of competition design, sponsorship, equipment donations, and volunteer support.
