Alex Center

Founder

CENTER

Alex Center is a Brooklyn-based designer and founder of the design and branding company CENTER. Prior to opening his own studio, he worked for over a decade for the global beverage leader, The Coca-Cola Company, where he led the strategy and design vision for the billion-dollar beverage brands vitaminwater, smartwater and POWERADE. Over the years Alex has designed packaging that has been in hands across the globe, created breakthrough marketing campaigns and launched innovative new products. In 2011, Alex was named one of the 200 Best Packaging Designers by Luerzers Archive. In 2013, he began speaking engagements at The Dieline Forum, AIGA INitiative, HOW Design Live and as a guest on Debbie Millman's famous Design Matters podcast. In 2014, Alex was named a Person To Watch by GDUSA Magazine. In 2015, he became a columnist for HOW Magazine, writing about the expanding landscape of In-House design. In his personal time, he enjoys rooting for New York sports teams that wear orange & blue, eating and instagramming delicious food and spending time with his wife Jacquelyn De Jesu and their zero kids and zero pets.

Andy Yarrow

Andy Yarrow oversees EFI in the markets of Japan, Korea, South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. He began his EFI career almost 12 years ago, managing EFI’s Fiery business with Xerox in the UK, Ireland and then Nordic countries (Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark). Following many years of market-share growth with EFI in Europe, Andy moved to Japan in January 2014 to head up EFI’s Fiery business in Asia Pacific. As of January 2017, Andy assumed overall responsibility for EFI’s businesses and product range, including display graphics printers, textiles, ceramics, building materials, and corrugated, as well as EFI’s Productivity Software business.

Jeff Protheroe

Jeffrey has been involved in the Graphics Arts industry for over 35 years, heading sales & marketing and business development at Crosfield Electronics, Agfa, Kodak and Potius. His expertise in the commercial, packaging and newspaper sectors includes pre-press, consumables, pre-press workflow, colour management and web-to-print.

Thomas Gohl

Sales Manager

Thomas Gohl has been in the graphic arts industry for more than 23 years. He started off as a sheetfed offset printer and has over the years accumulated knowledge and experiences in the graphic arts industry to also include the web business (multi-application machines) where he worked as an operator and supervisor. In 2004, Thomas joined IST Metz GmbH as an Application Technician in the IST UV Transfer Center. In 2010, he started working as a Sales Manager with the IST Sheetfed Division.

Job van Hasselt

Manager, SEA, the Pacific and Japan

Job van Hasselt has been in the graphic industry for over 40 years and his focus has been on developing business in Asia for various companies. He started working for the Bobst Asia Pacific operations in the 90s and was with Bobst for more than 20 years in different senior executive positions. Job also has experience working for manroland SEA and QI Press Controls SEA. For the past two years, he has worked for KAMA establishing its sales and services network in the Asia Pacific.

Udo Fiebiger

Regional Business Manager – Sheetfed Solutions

Udo has been working in the Graphics Arts Industry for 25 years and joined Heidelberg in 2003. He has held various positions in sales and marketing and has been very involved in the South Asia Pacific region. Udo has a degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University in Dresden, Germany.

Andreas Friedrich

Koenig & Bauer

Andreas Friedrich graduated from the University of Applied Science in Leipzig with a degree in Printing Technology. While in school, he also worked at a commercial printer and gained practical knowledge of the management of a printing plant. In 2001, he received a diploma that was based on job scheduling processes at a rotogravure printer in Hamburg. In 2005, Mr. Friedrich relocated to the Koenig & Bauer China office in Beijing where he was responsible for sales of web press machinery. He joined Koenig & Bauer in 2011. He later held the office of General Manager for the entire web business for 5 years, before becoming the Managing Director for Koenig & Bauer South East Asia in 2016. Together with a strong local team and partners in the region, he is now taking care of a wide range of products from Koenig & Bauer with focus on offset sheetfed, web-fed-, flexo and digital printing for South East Asia.

Achim Kurreck

CEO

Moog

Achim has been involved in the high-quality printing industry for over 25 years with a focus on high performance printing of the MOOG sheet and gravure presses. He has also been participating in many projects that involve: security, label, tobacco, beauty and liquor package printing. He is an active member of the Gravure Association of the Americas (GAA), the European Rotogravure Association (ERA) and PrintPromotion GmbH.

Clarence Chu

Head of TRUSTCONCEPT – APA

Kurz

Mr. Clarence Chu graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and he is the Head of TRUSTCONCEPT – APA, at Leonhard Kurz Group. He has engaged in the OVD and foiling security industries for more than 22 years. In the past few years, he devoted himself to provide different, impressive and effective solutions for bolstering the aesthetic of packaging, fighting against counterfeiting, and linking up the communication between end users and brand owners. He was the first one to facilitate the hot stamping application of single image OVD on the Chinese tobacco industry in mass production scale.

Jürgen Möhle

Jürgen started his career at Kolbus in 1988 as a Project Engineer. In 1991 he moved into sales, representing Kolbus in many countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and Pacific. Most recently, he has assumed responsibility for the sales of machines for the Kolbus Packaging System in South East Asia.

Martin Seifert

Martin has been involved in the Graphic Industry for over 17 years, with more than 10 years in worldwide technical service for postpress equipment, becoming a specialist in the cutting process and user troubleshooting before moving into sales. His expertise lies in managing complex, industrial paper cutting, die-cutting and laser systems. In recent years, he has been responsible for managing/supporting the maximization and performance of his agents and distributors, and representing POLAR's clients in the Middle East, Asia and Pacific regions.

Robert McCurdy

President

GTI Graphic Technology, Inc.

Robert McCurdy is President of GTI Graphic Technology, Inc., the leader in the design and manufacturing of ISO 3664 and ASTM D1729 compliant lighting systems for critical color viewing and matching. GTI has offices in Newburgh, NY and Wittmund, Germany. Robert previously served as the company’s vice president of sales and marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Math from Colby College, in Waterville, Maine. Robert is a hands-on leader and has been involved with numerous industry committees. He takes an active role in GTI’s product development program and was instrumental in the development of GTI’s new iQ soft proofing technology. Robert also developed the company’s LiteSupport program, an on-site audit and certification program designed to help users maintain viewing systems to industry standards. With over 35 years of experience working with viewing systems for critical color applications, Robert is uniquely qualified to speak on how light effects the viewing of color.
