Career Day

On Tuesday, October 2, look for hundreds of curious students visiting the show floor to check out the latest technologies and learn about careers in printing and graphic communications. GAERF will hold this free Career Day for high school students and teachers, designed especially for those with an interest in printing, graphic design, engineering, computers, art, electronics, physics and chemistry, mechanics, math, and publications.

The day begins with a student assembly featuring keynote speaker, Nick Gawreluk. Nick is an up-and-coming member of the printing industry with a passion for sharing his perspective on the current state and future of print media. His background consists of diverse business experience throughout the United States, Europe, and South America.

Presentation Topic:
“Creating a Successful Career Path as a Student in Graphic Communications”
Deciding your career path as a student and knowing how to find success is tough stuff! Don't panic because in Nick’s presentation, he will share the incredible opportunities available in the graphic communications industry and the steps to take to get involved and achieve your career aspirations.

Also during the student assembly, awards for the first-place winners of the 2018 GAERF Student Design Competition will be presented. Directly afterward, the students can learn more through a direct experience on the exhibition floor; meeting with industry professionals demonstrating the latest technologies and innovations. And, student attendees are encouraged to participate in the Student Career Fair, being held on the exhibit floor throughout the day on Tuesday.

Workforce Solutions

The Workforce Solutions area is designed to increase awareness among those exploring and/or presenting career paths—emphasizing the diverse, high-tech, and innovative job opportunities in graphic communications. Workforce Solutions promotes networking opportunities for educators and industry colleagues alike. Nonprofits, universities, and corporations who provide solutions in education, training, scholarships, and more, will be on-hand to emphasize the importance of developing the skilled workforce for printing, imaging, and graphic communications.
